Solubility: Soluble in ethanol. Ethyl ether and other organic solvents, but insoluble in water.
Usage: Thiophene is mainly used in pharmacy and pesticides as a basic chemical raw material. Its derivatives, e.g. acetyl thiophene, acid thiophene, ethanol thiophene, 2-bromo-thiophene are used as intermediates of antibiotics and parasiticides in pharmacy. In pesticide industry, it is a component of various pesticides and herbicides. Furthmore, as an important additive agent of the synthetic polymer materials, the dosage of it is rising constantly too.
